Gazelle

A small group of gazelle lives in the east plains of the area that are sometimes seen near agricultural wells of Bahonar and Beheshti. Males have fairly long s-shaped horns and females lack. They are diurnal and social and are seen in small and large herds. They are very fast and can run up to 80 km/h. Gazelles consider a certain path for escaping and do not change it, even when they see human or cars. They feed from bushes and fodders in the area and enter farms in the winters or dry seasons when they can’t find food, and then damage farms. Gazelles are main food for cheetahs and wolves and caracals are their natural enemies. All population of gezelles in Yazd provincehas disappeared except from the Kalman Bahadoran protected area. After securing, some gazelles have entered the area from Kalmand.
