Persian leopard

Leopard is classified under mammals. It is a carnivore from the Felid family. They are nocturnal animals and live individually and have their own territory. They usually move slow and quietly, but can run easily up to 60 km/h. They have excellent hearing, swim well, and can carry animals 3 times heavier than their weight, easily up to the rocks or trees. They don’t have natural enemies but their cubs are sometimes killed by other carnivores. Their population is decreasing because of reduction of their food, illegal hunting, road accidents, and consuming poisonous baits of hunters, and they are completely extinct in some areas. Camera traps have recorded leopard in the Kamaranjir and Sameri Mountains.
